Pricing Developer

npower are currently looking for a Pricing Developer to join our dedicated Commercial team to develop, support and maintain the pricing model landscapes.

This is an integral role as you will be key to leading change delivery across the whole of commercial, liaising with partners across finance, sales and service and other developers to align on strategy and approach on model developments.

What else will you be doing?
• You will ensure compliance with CMA remedies and other regulatory change through ongoing development and maintenance of the Price Creation Tool and any associated applications
• You’ll develop a clear understanding of the requirements of model users, whether within Commercial or other teams, e.g. Sales channel users
• You'll provide technical expertise to the wider Commercial team to ensure that they can build specifications from stakeholder/project requirements, understanding what can and cannot be achieved operationally
• You will develop and own supporting documentation for relevant models within the Commercial model landscape, whether new or existing
• Ensuring costing and pricing models are accurate and fully reflect business requirements
• You’ll test any created technology and codes and work with team members and business users to resolve any defect
• You will actively contribute to the project RAID log, advancing any issues to the management team to ensure that project deadlines are met

Skills and experience
• Advanced VBA, SQL and SAS (EG) programming is important, including SAS macros
• Education to degree level or equivalent, preferably numerate degree
• You'll have the ability to work on an agile basis, dealing with changes to priorities
• Be able to quickly develop understanding of business processes and interface requirements with the wider architecture (SAP, Salesforce, other third party applications) as these are key cross-dependencies
• You should have a detailed understanding of databases, modelling and system design, with proficiency in MS Excel, MS Access
• You'll be proficient in data interrogation, manipulation, analysis and reporting
• Ability to identify, investigate and analyse issues with modelling tools and work to resolve
• Ability to develop creative solutions to complex processes and commercial challenges
• Advanced level of numeric skills combined with strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Able to work to deadlines and be a self-motivator with the initiative to identify issues and find solutions
• You will have an eye for detail
• Proven ability to communicate with non-technical subject matter experts, users and members of the management team
• Understanding of the UK retail energy markets
