Business Analyst: REM Change

Are you an expert Business Analyst with the passion to join a fast paced and varied Change team within our Retail Energy Management department? We look after all the commercial risks of the npowers retail business, including purchasing, delivering and reconciling energy. We manage and dispose of these risks at the best value possible. Working within the wholesale market for gas and electricity means our environment is a challenging one but nevertheless an exciting and interesting area of the industry for you to be involved in. No day is the same, and with the proposed merge for npower there will no doubt be significant change.

Whilst this role is in our offices in Solihull with some travel required to other sites; we are advocates of agile working so you’ll also have the benefit of working from home.

So what will you be doing?

You’ll ensure the controlled development and deployment of change initiatives working with business project managers and partners through the full project lifecycle. Making use of appropriate toolkits to identify and interpret business requirements and propose acceptable solutions or options to the business sponsor. Analysis of requirements to include business process design, impact assessment of all changes, design options & cost/benefits, you'll make recommendations for solution approval. You’ll have very specific deliverables and once you have delivered the change initiative, you’ll retain some level of assurance to continually review technical and testing documentation to ensure they are fit for purpose and business appropriate. The change initiatives will predominantly be part of REM however you’ll naturally have interaction across other business areas of npower, allowing you develop your knowledge business-wide.

Required skills and experience

You'll possess the following skills to be successful in this role:

  • Have the experience and ability to manage a wide range of internal partners
  • 'T shaped skills' across the disciplines of business analysis / systems analysis /  project management and testing with experience of all delivery methods (Agile / Waterfall / Hybrid etc)
  • Demonstrable experience of requirements gathering and process mapping
  • Understanding of Prince2 methodology
  • Previous experience in a Business Analyst role
  • Understanding of industry standard modelling standards and methodologies
  • Be personable and have excellent communication skills to ensure project updates are communicated effectively

Salary and package details

£35,000 to £45,000 plus 15% bonus opportunity, a generous company pension scheme, 25 days holiday and the opportunity to opt-in to our flexible benefits scheme.
