Acoustic Engineer


There is an exciting opportunity to join innogy’s Technical Engineering team. You will be responsible for ensuring value engineering is consistently applied to all stages of an onshore wind farm project. Reporting to the Team Lead Resource Engineering at innogy SE and interfacing directly with innogy SE’s Technical Engineering Group, you will be working in a team with very experienced wind turbine acoustic experts and will have an aspect of independent work.


The tasks:

  • Country specific noise impact analysis for different project phases
  • Acoustic advice and optimization on wind farm development
  • Involvement in the development of noise analysis strategies for all (international) markets
  • Acoustic support for planning application process
  • Maintenance of Sound Power Level Database and WindPRO wind turbine catalogue
  • Support of acoustic related projects in other business units including offshore wind
  • Support in research as well as in summarising findings for international standards


The requirements:

  • Degree in engineering or science, or equivalent education and experience
  • Knowledge of acoustics and first experience in this field, preferably wind turbine acoustics
  • First experience with special acoustic/ noise software (e.g. WindPro, CadnaA/Immi/Soundplan etc.) beneficial
  • Optional programming language experience (e.g. Matlab, Python, Fortran, VBA etc.)
  • Presentation, communication and report writing skills
  • Excellent teamwork ability and integrative skills

This role would be based at our Swindon Head Office, There will be an expectation to travel to other offices and sites outside of your base location (including Europe/Overseas) which may involve overnight stays
