Offshore Lead Commissioning Engineer

Role description


The Offshore Lead Commissioning Engineer is a role within the UK Offshore Strategy & implementation Team reporting to the Offshore Commissioning Package manager. The role will provide commissioning technical expertise and ensure that the innogy commissioning strategy is implemented and that all necessary processes and resources are available to deliver offshore wind farm projects into safe commercial operation and ensure that lessons learnt across projects are captured, communicated and implemented in future projects.

The Lead Commissioning Engineer will be integral in ensuring that early generation revenue during the commissioning phase is optimised, whilst ensuring that safety is the number one priority and shall be comfortable working in a team environment.


The role holder will support the Commissioning package manager in developing the overall project commissioning function and team for a project, to include Commissioning Managers/Engineers and Lead Safety Controllers/Senior Authorised Persons.


Required skills and experience


  • HND/HNC in electrical & electronic engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Offshore Wind Farm Commissioning and Operations.
  • Proven track record in an HV/offshore commissioning environment is essential. 
  • Experience of HV plant and network operations.
  • Experience of Marine safety and logistics.
  • Good knowledge of current UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels.
  • Experience of managing budgets and contractors.
